“Manifolds” are topological concepts that allow us to comprehend multidimensional structures. In modern physics, manifolds arise as the underlying forms within a complex set of data depicted in Euclidean space. Mascha’s research reverses this reductive method augmenting linearity in three dimensions. Manifolds grow as an intuitively driven computer-aided gesture of spiral-like twists and folds of geometry 3D printed in sandstone, creating forms that define and organize empty space, light, and volume.
